All prices in US dollars. Rates below apply to work performed within Corvallis and the surrounding area. Longer-distance travel and rush/after-hours work have their own line items — see the bottom of this page.

What you can count on

  • 30-day workmanship warranty
    If the same issue comes back within 30 days, the return visit is on me. (If the issue turns out to be unrelated to the original work, you'll still be charged — I'll always be direct with you about this.)
  • No surprises
    You'll have my estimate before we start. I'll call to authorize any additional charges. If a job isn't fixable, you only pay the diagnostic fee and any applicable surcharges.
  • Parts at near cost
    I can handle part orders for you within reason. A small, non-refundable 5% processing fee is added to the total cost of the part. You're also welcome to provide your own parts at no extra cost.
  • Your data, your call
    I don't keep backups longer than we agreed. Drives are wiped and/or returned to you. I have zero interest in your personal data and don't access files more than is necessary for the work at hand.
  • Flexible payment
    Cash (preferred), Venmo, Cash App, or another digital transfer method within reason. Cards aren't currently accepted — that may change.

What I don't handle

I'm an independent operation. There are a few things I simply cannot accomplish for you. If you're unsure whether your issue falls into one of these, feel free to reach out — I'll clear up what I can.

Short list: over-the-phone support, Apple hardware, phone/tablet hardware, soldering or board-level work, physical data recovery, gaming console hardware, Wi-Fi/network setup, business-network administration, BitLocker bypass, pirated software, and infestation cleanup.

  • Over-the-phone support. My phone line is a callback number and is only intended for scheduling or ongoing repair-related concerns.
  • Apple hardware repair. Mac, MacBook, iMac, and Apple-silicon hardware work. Apple's repair ecosystem is its own thing. Software repair is limited, but I'll tell you what I can and can't do.
  • Phone, tablet, and mobile-device hardware. Screens, batteries, charge ports, and anything that requires opening a phone or tablet. This requires an authorized service center.
  • Soldering, board-level work, and screen replacements. Laptop or desktop screens, motherboard repair, anything requiring a soldering iron.
  • Physical data recovery. If a drive is physically failing — clicking, not spinning, water-damaged — it needs a specialist. I can point you in the right direction, but this sort of recovery is never cheap.
  • Gaming console hardware repair. Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch hardware issues. These are manufacturer concerns.
  • Wi-Fi and network setup. Router, mesh, and home-network configuration are a different skill set.
  • Server, domain, or business-network administration. Active Directory, business VPNs, enterprise email — I'm set up for individuals, not business IT.
  • Accounting and specialty business software. QuickBooks, payroll, and industry-specific software.
  • Lessons and general training. I'm happy to explain my repair work, what needs to be done, and basic repair-related concepts, but I don't offer individual trainings — I simply don't have the time.
  • Third-party account issues. If the fix requires calling your ISP, Microsoft, Apple, Google, or a warranty desk, that call has to come from you. I can't handle these sorts of disputes for you.
  • BitLocker, encryption, or password bypass without credentials. I can help if you have the recovery key or credentials (or a way to access them). Otherwise, it's something I'm literally incapable of doing — BitLocker is military-grade encryption.
  • Pirated software and DRM circumvention. Cracked Windows activations, unlocking paid software, jailbreaking, and similar requests. I cannot and will not give advice on these.
  • Infestation cleanup. Computers with live insects, rodent damage, or heavy contamination inside. I'm simply not equipped for it.
